What an inspiring KvinnoKapital lunch yesterday!
A big thank you to Linden Thomson and Candriam for a fascinating and engaging session on Investing in the Fight Against Cancer.
Linden took us through some of the remarkable progress being made in the fight against cancer – and how AI is accelerating development across drug discovery, clinical trials, diagnostics and personalised medicine.
From genome sequencing and liquid biopsies to personalised mRNA cancer vaccines, it was fascinating to see how technologies that seemed almost unimaginable not long ago are increasingly becoming part of the future of cancer treatment.
The discussion also highlighted a more challenging perspective: Europe is falling behind the US and China in biotech innovation and investment, while China in particular has rapidly increased its role in global oncology clinical trials.
And perhaps most importantly, the session showed how investment can go beyond financial returns – helping to fund innovation, accelerate medical progress and ultimately contribute to better outcomes for patients.
