Sarah de Lagarde, Janus Henderson
Sarah is the Global Head of Corporate Affairs at Janus Henderson and holds the distinguished title of being the first woman to climb Mount Kilimanjaro twice —first, as an able-bodied individual and then, triumphantly, with prosthetics. Her story is not just about physical endurance; it’s a narrative of profound resilience, innovation, and the power of technology to transform lives.
In 2022, Sarah faced a life-altering challenge when she was involved in a harrowing accident on the London Underground, resulting in the loss of her limbs. Undeterred, she emerged from this ordeal with a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Within two years, she achieved the incredible feat of summiting Mount Kilimanjaro again, this time equipped with two prosthetic limbs, setting a world record and becoming a symbol of hope and relentless spirit.
Sarah’s story is further enriched by her pioneering role in advancing healthcare through technology. As the first woman to be fitted with a state-of-the-art £250,000 AI-powered bionic arm, Sarah is at the cutting edge of discussions about the future of prosthetics and AI’s role in enhancing human capabilities. Her experiences offer invaluable insights into overcoming adversity, adapting to change, and the transformative potential of AI in healthcare.

Anna Laurell Nash
Anna Laurell Nash is currently the Executive Director of The Center for Sports and Business at the Stockholm School of Economics. She has a background as a former boxing world champion.
