What a fantastic December lunch! From the lovely Christmas gift each KvinnoKapital member received at the entrance to La Voûte at Bank Hotel, where we gathered for the lunch hosted in collaboration with Janus Henderson, to the glögg, lussekatter (as we say in Sweden), delicious food, and mingling before we had the pleasure of listening to “Rising Above – How My Refugee Roots Shaped My Success” featuring Kareena Moledina, Lead – Fixed Income Client Portfolio Management (EMEA) / Fixed Income ESG at Janus Henderson.
PERSONALITY AND DRIVE
Kareena Moledina shared her family’s and her own story, highlighting the challenges and resilience that shaped her journey. She spoke about the importance of education, always striving to do your best, refusing to become invisible, and taking pride in your roots and achievements.
VISIBILITY
Choose a culture where you don’t have to fight or be aggressive to learn or get recognized. Remember that you send out a message when you accept certain things.
POSITIVE CHANGE
Do things differently—find a company that welcomes ideas and embraces change. This mindset helped her get to where she is today. When the person holding her current role was moving on, she wrote a business plan outlining the kind of changes she wanted to make, why they were needed, and how to achieve them. She made it clear that she was ready for the challenge. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Thank you Kareena Moledina and Janus Henderson for an inspiring lunch!
